Why Is My Guest's Credit Card Number Hidden In The Email Message?
At Gather, we want to ensure that financial information is protected and secure! We are PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant and must follow all practices so that financial data will not be jeopardized.
If your client sends credit card information in the body of an email, Gather will automatically remove the credit card number and replace it with 'xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (credit card number removed)'
Credit cards numbers will be hidden if a guest emails you a full credit card number or if you were to email a full credit card number to your guest.
Gather team members also do not have access to these hidden credit card numbers. To collect payment from a guest, we recommend requesting payment through the payments integration if you have one set up, or by requesting a completed credit card authorization form.
